Carpet Cleaning Barnes Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Barnes provides professional carpet, upholstery, and related cleaning services. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order for any services.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words shall have the meanings set out below.

Client means the person, business, or organisation requesting or receiving the services.

Company means Carpet Cleaning Barnes, the provider of the services.

Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, or related cleaning work, as well as any additional services agreed between the Client and the Company.

Premises means the property or location at which the services are to be carried out.

Technician means an employee, contractor, or representative of the Company who carries out the services.

Agreement means the contract between the Client and the Company, comprising these Terms and Conditions and the details confirmed at the time of booking.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet and related cleaning services at residential and commercial premises. The exact scope of the services will be confirmed at the time of booking and may include carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stain treatment, and other associated services.

The Company will endeavour to carry out the services with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with industry standards. However, the outcome may be affected by the age, condition, and material of the items cleaned, as well as pre-existing stains or damage.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Requests for services may be made by telephone, online form, or other methods offered by the Company from time to time. A booking is not confirmed until the Company has accepted it and provided a booking confirmation.

3.2 The Client must provide accurate information about the Premises and the items to be cleaned, including approximate room sizes, number and type of carpets or upholstery, access restrictions, and any other relevant details. The Company reserves the right to amend the quoted price if the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate.

3.3 The Company may, at its discretion, request photographs or additional information to assist in providing an accurate quote or in assessing the suitability of the services.

3.4 The Company reserves the right to decline a booking where it reasonably considers that the services cannot be safely or effectively carried out, or where the Premises are unsuitable or unsafe for the Technician.

4. Access to the Premises

4.1 The Client is responsible for providing the Technician with safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed time. Any parking restrictions, gate codes, or entry instructions must be communicated in advance.

4.2 If the Technician is unable to gain access to the Premises at the scheduled time through no fault of the Company, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be charged in accordance with the cancellation policy set out in these Terms and Conditions.

4.3 The Client must ensure that the Premises are adequately lit, that electricity and water supplies are available, and that any alarm systems are deactivated or managed to allow the Technician to perform the services.

5. Client Responsibilities

5.1 The Client is responsible for moving fragile items, ornaments, valuables, and small furniture before the Technician arrives, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Company accepts no liability for damage to items left in areas where cleaning is being carried out, unless caused by the negligence of the Technician.

5.2 The Client must inform the Technician of any known defects, weaknesses, or risks associated with the carpets, rugs, upholstery, or flooring, including loose seams, fraying, shrinkage risk, colour instability, or previous damage.

5.3 The Client must ensure that children, pets, and other occupants are kept away from the work area and from any equipment, chemicals, or cables used during the services.

6. Pricing and Quotations

6.1 All prices are provided in pounds sterling and are exclusive or inclusive of VAT where applicable, as stated at the time of booking.

6.2 Any quotation provided by the Company is based on the information supplied by the Client and is valid for a limited period as indicated by the Company. Quotations may be revised if the actual condition, size, or nature of the items or Premises differs from that described by the Client.

6.3 Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled carpets or upholstery, stain protection treatments, parking fees, congestion charges, or extended travel, if applicable. Any such charges will be explained to the Client as far as reasonably practicable before the services commence.

7. Payments

7.1 Unless otherwise agreed in advance, payment for the services is due immediately on completion of the work at the Premises.

7.2 Accepted payment methods will be advised at the time of booking, and may include cashless methods such as card payment or bank transfer.

7.3 For commercial Clients or larger projects, the Company may require a deposit or advance payment, or operate on an invoice basis. Invoices are payable within the period specified on the invoice.

7.4 The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate, accruing daily from the due date until payment is received in full.

8. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Missed Appointments

8.1 If the Client wishes to cancel or reschedule a booking, notice must be given as early as possible. The specific notice period and any applicable fees will be stated at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.

8.2 Where insufficient notice is given, the Company may charge a cancellation fee to cover costs incurred, including lost technician time, travel costs, and administrative expenses.

8.3 If the Technician attends the Premises and is unable to gain access, or if the Client is not present and has not arranged access as agreed, the visit may be deemed a missed appointment. In such cases, the full service fee or a substantial portion of it may be charged at the Companys discretion.

8.4 The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where it is unable to provide the services due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to technician illness, severe weather, transport disruption, or equipment failure. In such circumstances, the Company will offer an alternative appointment. The Company will not be liable for any consequential losses resulting from such cancellations.

9. Service Limitations and Results

9.1 While the Company will use appropriate professional products and methods, it does not guarantee complete removal of all stains, odours, or marks. Some stains may be permanent or may only improve rather than disappear entirely.

9.2 Pre-existing damage, wear, fading, or defects may become more visible after cleaning. The Company is not responsible for highlighting or revealing such conditions when they were not visible prior to the cleaning process.

9.3 Certain materials are prone to shrinkage, colour run, or texture change when cleaned. The Company will take reasonable care and may test items where appropriate, but cannot be held liable where such changes occur due to inherent faults or manufacturers instructions or materials that are incompatible with cleaning.

10. Health, Safety, and Waste Regulations

10.1 The Company will conduct its work in line with applicable health and safety requirements. Technicians are instructed to use cleaning products, equipment, and methods responsibly, and to minimise any risk to occupants and property.

10.2 Some cleaning products may contain chemicals that can cause irritation or allergic reactions. The Client should notify the Company in advance of any known sensitivities, allergies, or special requirements. After cleaning, the Client is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation of the Premises where necessary.

10.3 The Company will comply with relevant waste regulations when disposing of waste water, collected debris, or used consumables arising from the services. Technicians will not remove hazardous waste or items that fall outside the normal scope of carpet and upholstery cleaning.

10.4 The Client is responsible for the safe disposal of any personal or household waste at the Premises. The Company will not handle or remove domestic refuse, clinical waste, or sharp objects, and reserves the right to refuse service where such items present a risk.

11. Damage and Liability

11.1 The Company will take reasonable care when providing the services. If damage is caused to property or belongings due to the negligence of the Technician, the Client must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable time after becoming aware of the issue.

11.2 Where damage is established and accepted, the Company may, at its discretion, arrange repair, offer compensation, or make a payment in line with its insurance cover and legal obligations. Any settlement will take into account the age, condition, and value of the affected item.

11.3 The Company shall not be liable for any damage or loss arising from inaccurate information provided by the Client, hidden defects, inadequate maintenance, or failure to follow the Technicians advice regarding drying times, use of the cleaned area, or aftercare instructions.

11.4 The Company shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity suffered by the Client as a result of the services, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

11.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12. Complaints and Service Issues

12.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the services, they should notify the Company as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of completion of the work, so that the Company has an opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, to remedy the issue.

12.2 Where a complaint relates to the quality of cleaning, the Company may offer a re-visit to inspect the work and may carry out additional cleaning in the affected areas where appropriate. This will not be treated as an admission of liability.

12.3 The Company will endeavour to handle complaints fairly and promptly. The outcome of any complaint will depend on the circumstances and evidence available.

13. Insurance

13.1 The Company maintains insurance cover appropriate for the type of services it provides, in accordance with industry practice.

13.2 Details of insurance cover may be made available upon reasonable request.

14. Force Majeure

14.1 The Company shall not be in breach of these Terms and Conditions nor liable for delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of its obligations where such delay or failure results from events, circumstances, or causes beyond its reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, natural disasters, acts of government, strikes, transport disruption, or failure of utilities.

14.2 In such circumstances, the Company will make reasonable efforts to notify the Client and to reschedule the services where possible.

15. Personal Data and Privacy

15.1 The Company will collect and process personal data about the Client for the purposes of arranging and delivering the services, handling payments, and managing customer relationships in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

15.2 The Client is responsible for ensuring that any personal data provided is accurate and up to date. The Company will not share personal data with third parties except where necessary to provide the services, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or where the Client has given consent.

16. Amendments to these Terms and Conditions

16.1 The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version that applies to any particular booking will be the version in force at the time the booking is confirmed.

16.2 Any changes will not affect rights or obligations that have already arisen under a confirmed Agreement, unless required by law.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any Agreement between the Client and the Company, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

17.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the services provided.

18. General Provisions

18.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.

18.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy provided under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.

18.3 The Client may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without the prior written consent of the Company. The Company may transfer its rights and obligations to another organisation where this does not materially affect the service provided to the Client.

By making a booking with Carpet Cleaning Barnes, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
